Answers to the most common problems with signing in, pairing and opening.

Locked out right now?

Opening is decided by your Chaster lock. Once it has ended, open the box on your box page. Your keyholder can also release the box early from the extension page. If nothing else works, the reset button inside the box restores factory settings.

Signing in and connecting

›Where do I pair or open the box?

On the box page, signed in with your Chaster account. Chaster does not allow Bluetooth inside its extension page, so the extension page only lets you choose the box for the lock.

›Signing in fails or keeps asking again.

Allow cookies for this site — the box page needs one to remember your sign-in. If Chaster asks for permission, allow access to your profile and locks. Sign-ins expire after a while; just sign in again.

›“This browser has no Web Bluetooth.”

Use Chrome or Edge on Android, Windows, macOS, Linux or ChromeOS. On an iPhone or iPad install the Bluefy browser and open the box page there. On Linux, Web Bluetooth may have to be enabled under chrome://flags.

›The browser dialog does not show my box.
  • Touch the keypad — a sleeping box does not advertise itself.
  • Move closer, and make sure Bluetooth is on and the browser may use it.
  • Close the TTLock app and other apps that might be connected to the box; it accepts only one connection at a time.
  • On Android, Chrome also needs the location or “nearby devices” permission for Bluetooth scanning.
›“The box did not answer” or the connection drops.

The box goes back to sleep after a few seconds. Touch the keypad, stay close and try again right away. Weak batteries cause the same symptoms — replace them if the battery level is low.

Pairing

›“The box refused pairing — it is probably paired already.”

The box still belongs to a TTLock app account or another pairing. Delete it in the TTLock app, or press the reset button inside the box, then pair again.

›“Unsupported lock (protocol …)”.

Only TTLock V3 devices are supported. Older generations cannot be used with this extension.

›The box shows “Pairing incomplete”.

The connection broke after the box had already received its new credentials. Try Open box — if it opens, the box works. Otherwise reset the box with its reset button, remove it under Manage box and pair again.

Opening and locking

›“Open box” is greyed out.

The box is part of a running lock. It opens once the lock is unlocked, after a deserted lock was recovered, or while a hygiene opening runs. Reload the box page after starting a hygiene opening in Chaster.

›A hygiene opening runs, but the box stays greyed out.

Make sure you are signed in on the box page with the wearer's Chaster account — only that account can see the hygiene opening — and reload the page.

›My box is not offered on the extension page.

Only the wearer can add a box, and only a paired box that is not part of another running lock. Pair it on the box page with the same Chaster account, then press Refresh.

›“The box rejected the stored credentials.”

The box was reset or paired somewhere else since. Remove it under Manage box and pair it again.

›“Lock box” fails, but opening works.

Many lock boxes lock automatically when the lid is closed and do not support locking over Bluetooth. Closing the lid is enough.

›“The stored box credentials cannot be decrypted.”

This is a problem on the server side and cannot be fixed from your device. Until it is fixed, the keypad admin code still opens the box.

After the lock

›The lock has ended. How do I open the box?

Open the box page — the box is free again and opens there. This also works when the lock is archived.

›Can I use the box with a new lock?

Yes. Once the box is free again, add it in the extension of the new lock. A box can be part of one lock at a time.
